HSIP: Richardson Highway MP 351 Interchange (12 Mile Village) Project No. NFHWY00097/0A24034

We are working to replace the existing intersection at mile 351 on the Richardson Highway (near North Pole) with an overpass to reduce turning-related crashes. This project is being developed under the Highway Safety Improvement Program in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration.

Public Involvement:

We held two open houses for this project, one in September 2017 and one in July 2022. We appreciate everyone who participated and submitted comments. If you would like more information after reviewing this website, please contact us. You can find our contact information on the sidebar (or below if you’re on a mobile device).

Purpose & Need:

This intersection has a crash rate 2.5 time higher than the statewide average for intersections of this type. Construction of an overpass at this location will reduce turning conflicts and reduce crashes.

Selected Design:

You can review the location and type of overpass we selected in the Final Interchange Access Justification Report, available on the sidebar (or below if you’re on a mobile device).
